The Cyprus Kitchen is on the
left as you approach Gönyeli from the signposted turning off
the main Nicosia to Güzelyurt road, some 5 km from the city centre. Although a
modern
building, it has been decorated with such a rich collection of traditional
furniture, tools,
embroideries and kitchenware that it looks like a working museum.
Equal attention is paid to the
repertoire of Cypriot dishes; you will need to order the pot
roasts, which are cooked outside in a traditional clay-sealed oven, in
advance.
Open for lunch and dinner and
favourite with visiting delegations and local politicians. Dinner for two with wine costs about UK£10.
