The town of Lefke with a population 2000 has various cultural activities
than the other towns of North Cyprus. The European
University of Lefke was built
in 1990 with its campus in which 250 students can be has accommodated. The
university has an access to all parts of North Cyprus quiet easily. Town
of Lefke also Primary school, secondary school , high school and a technical
school which was built during the British rule.
The people of Lefke are
decent and friendly. Their attitudes towards the changing would is positive.
They are conservative in certain ways of life. In this town there is an
organisation that is responsible for the environment of Lefke which is
another social value. The educational level is family high and some of
them can communicate with more than one language. Therefore they don’t
have much difficulties dealing with tourists. As sport activities town
of Lefke has a football team called "Lefke Spor", which has been
playing an important role in the area for about 50 years.
