Poet and researcher. Born in
Gönyeli, Nicosia in 1942.
He worked many years as a teacher in Cyprus and Turkey.
Gökçeoğlu mainly
writes on Cypriot folklore, village life and social issues. His works have
been published in Cyprus, Italy and Turkey.
He was the
President of the Contemporary Writers' Association
for a period, as well as being a founding member of the Artists and
Writers Union. His publications include:

Efsanelerimiz
Gökçeoğlu also won several literary prizes and honours for his works,
among which include: the Turkish Bank Arts-Culture prize, Nicosia Council
Literary Writing Second Prize.
