Born
in 1952, in Cyprus, and educated in Cyprus and Turkey. He read
Medicine and graduated from the Faculty of Medicine, University
of Istanbul.
He is a poet,
literary researcher and a practising eye specialist. His poems
and essays have been published in magazines and newspapers in
Cyprus, Turkey, UK, and Hungary. He is one of the leading
members of the '74 Generation Poetry Movement. He has been
active in the promotion of the Cypriot culture and literature in
Turkey.
His first
collection of poems `Aci Surgun' [Bitter Exile] (1986) is
published by Yasemin Publications. He is now working on a novel
and the publication of a magazine on Turkish Cypriot Arts.
