Nese Yasin 

  Nese YasinBorn in 1959, in Nicosia, and educated in Cyprus and Turkey. She read Sociology and graduated from the Department of Social Sciences of the Middle East Technical University.

She is a writer, journalist and a well known poet in Cyprus. She is one of the leading members of the '74 Generation Poetry Movement. Her poems have been translated and published in magazines, newspapers, anthologies, and books in Cyprus, Turkey, Greece, Yugoslavia, Hungary, Holland, Germany and England. One of her poems `Which Half?' has been used as lyrics in a composition by Mario Tokas. Others have been composed in Turkey. 

Yasin, Nese, (2001), Ay Asktan Yapilmistir.She has published two collections of poetry, `Sümbül ile Nergis' (1978), and `Savaslarin Gözyaslari' (1979). 

In 1978, while only 19, she was awarded the Special Arts and Culture Prize by the South Cyprus government. This was the first time it was awarded to a Turkish Cypriot artist.  

She continues to write and publish her poetry.
