Journalist, researcher, poet and politician. Born in Mehmetcik
(Galatya), Famagusta
in 1935. He finished his secondary education at Kibris Turk Lycee, in Nicosia.
He worked in Cyprus, Egypt and Bristish Sovereign Bases for some years,
before enrolling to study a degree in Law at the Ankara University, Turkey.
He published the
Nacak newspaper, and Besparmak art
magazine, and Uyari literary journal for the K.T.Federasyonu together
with Kutlu Adali and Osman
Türkay.
Upon the completion of his higher education in Turkey, he returned
to Cyprus and started practicing law. For a period he also served as a
member of the parliament, but then left active politics in early 1980s.
He currently writes a column in one of the main daily newspapers.
During the late 1950s, he produced a number of romantic and
exotic
poems as well as writing cynical articles in the newspapers. He later collected
his poems in a book titled Çukur Yanakli (1961). This remained as
his only poetry work.
