Sevgül Uludağ is
correspondent of the Turkish Cypriot daily paper “Yeni
Düzen” and has
written articles for several Turkish Cypriot magazines and newspapers.
The editor of the Greek Cypriot daily paper "Alithia", Alecos Constantinides,
provided her with a weekly column in the Sunday edition in the spring of 2004.
Since then Greek Cypriots, too, have been able to read
her "untold stories", they have been put together in this volume.
"I am grateful to Alecos Constantinides for opening the pages of Alithia
for me, for translating my articles because he gave me a chance to share my
views with Greek Cypriots. This was what I wanted: to speak to Greek Cypriots in
their own language and try to create 'meaning' out of the absurdity we've all
been living through", said Sevgül
Uludağ.
This volume is a collection of various articles dealing with stories from both
sides of divided island which cannot be found in any history book.
