Atun has written many poems, most of which have been collectively published in 1985 under the title -Bagbozumu-. Atun regards poems as -record of the feelings in time- and as such his works show great diversity in theme. Two of his works are given below:

Tanriya Seslenis
Elinde kalemin çizgiler çizersin,
Elinde firçan renk renk boyarsin,
Arkasindan can verirsin, ruh verirsin,
Melekler yaratirsin, huriler yaratirsin.

Uzaktan Uzaga
Dargin miyiz artik mahsere dek,
Ak bulutlarin nem mi kapti güzelimiz,
Yüce daglardan kopup gelen rüzgârlardan,
Engin denizlerden esen meltemlerden,
Üzücü anlamlar mi çikardi güzelimiz,
Yorgun ellerim saçlarinin hasretini çekiyorsa
Gözlerim hep gül yüzünü ariyorsa
Yüzünü boynunu koklamak istiyorsam
Basimi gögsünde dinlendirmek istiyorsam
Öpüyorsam seni hep rüyalarimda
Darilman gerek mi bana
Bu kadar uzaktan uzaga
