This theatre
company, founded, under the auspices of Nicosia
Turkish Municipality, by those artists who broke awat from the
State Theatres after November, 1980. The theatre company
performs regularly, most active in winter season.
Some of the
plays performed by the NMT include:
- Vatandas Oyunu (The Citizens
Play),
- Oku Adam Ol (Study and Be Someone),
- Kuzeyname,
Özgürügün Bedeli (The Price of Freedom),
- Biraz Gelir Misin?
(Can You Come Here a Second?),

 Sevgi Gülü- Çocuk Oyunu (Love
Rose-A Childrens Play),
- Sevgili Doktor (Dear Doctor), Teneke
(Tin),
- Sahlari da Vururlar (They Shoot the Shahs as well),
- Doktor Civanim (Doctor, My Love).
The company
moved to its new premises in 1985, and had until to day
performed over 30 plays.

KTKT is one of
the specialised theatre groups, based in Famagusta, performing
comedy plays mostly from Cyprus, but also sometimes foreign ones
as well.
The group is
highly popular especially among the young people, as it takes a
cynical view of day-to-day lives of the Cypriots in the plays.

Maraş
Emek Theatre (MET) |
|
This is a private,
independent theatre company founded in Maras, Famagusta
with limited facilities. Despite its financial limitations, the
company produced some very talented artists.
MET is highly
popular especially among the young people, as it takes a cynical
view of day-to-day lives of the Cypriots in the plays.

 Established
in 2003 Açık Tiyatro (Open Theatre literally) is one of the newest and
the most progressive private theatre groups in North Cyprus.

Güzelyurt
Theatre Association (Güsad) |

Founded in 1983,
in Güzelyurt, GÜSAD performed many plays until now, some of
which are: Aziz Nesin's Toros Canavari (The Moster of Tauruses),
Hidayet Sayins Topuzlu, Cevdet Haci Yatmazs Haci Yatmaz.
The theatre is
one of the most successful in the country and performs
regularly.
