Ziya Sencer
Ziya Sencer Singer and songwriter. Born in Larnaca, Cyprus. Finished his secondary education in Nicosia, and then studied Pharmacology at Ankara University, Turkey. During his studies in Turkey, he took private lessons from Sadi Hoshses, the famous Turkish classical music composer. Upon completion of his studies and return to the island, Sencer started practicing his profession. At the same time, he started his first compositions. Sencer also worked closely with composers and lyricists such as Bugra Ugur and Yusuf Butunley.

In 1989, he represented North Cyprus at the Golden Dove Song Contest, in Kusadasi with the song "Hep Seni Beklerim" (I'll Always Wait for You; lyrics by Ece Erbag, Composer: Yusuf Butunley). Sencer's first album, under the same name as the above song "Hep Seni Beklerim" came in later. This has opened the doors for him to the music market in mainland Turkey. The songs in the album are:
