Born
in London to Turkish-Cypriot parents, Tamer is a south London boy
through and through, he was raised in New Cross and Old Kent Road, and
grew up on the wrong side of the tracks.
An amateur boxer, Tamer had a devastating blow after a fatal eye injury,
he then had to give up his dream. He turned into an entrepreneur owning
nightclubs, restaurants and is currently the owner, chairman, coach and
player of Greenwich Football club and Eltham Boxing club.
Tamer met his agent two years ago, after her asking, 'Have you ever
thought about acting?' his reply was 'Acting's for Mugs'. After treading
the entertainment boards hard for two years, he has graced our
television screens, in 'EastEnders' and ‘Casualty’, is to be seen
soon in Dream Team, Judge John Deed and the Bill.
Tamer has just finished filming Working Title's Calcium
Kid, The (2003), starring opposite Orlando Bloom and 5-time Oscar
nominee Michael Learner, playing a psychotic World Champion Boxer. He is
then embarking on playing a starring role in Vertigo Films' 'Football
Factory' – co-starring opposite Sean Bean and Dougray Scott, playing
the head of Millwall.
