Some years ago,
two couples from Nottingham were so attracted to Northern Cyprus
that they sold up and settled here permanently. Today Barbara,
Jeff, Geraldine and Werner run one of the finest and most popular
restaurants on the island. Inside, it's like being in a cozy
country pub with a charming open-air and romantically lit walled
courtyard, where you can try a variety of lunchtime bar snacks and
mouth watering dishes for dinner. A typical four course meal with
wine costs about UK£10, whilst on Sundays, there are superb
roasts for just UK£6.
The Courtyard Inn is just off the coast road east of Kyrenia. It is modelled
on a convivial English pub, but rises above expectations with an imaginative
menu and a good selection of Turkish wines. Try a spinach and apricot börek
with the house specialty of fillet stuffed with pate and prawns.
