Nangomi Beach
|
|

The most magnificent beach in the whole Cyprus, a great crescent of golden sand
surrounded by dunes and broken into two unequal parts a promontory, fills Nagomi
Bay, in Karpas peninsula.
The road passes Galounapetra
Point, 4 km before the shrine of St. Andreas, which gives a splendid view over
the bay. It is inhabited by a virulent type of sandfly in high summer and is
virtually undisturbed by humans, remaining one of the few secure nesting grounds
for the marine turtles.
