HOSPITALS IN LEFKE
   One of the most important services for the health is of course hospitalisation it is from this reason that two hospitals were being built in the region. One was built in Lefke and called the hospital of Lefke, and the other one was built in Yesilyurt which is called Cengiz Topel.
   
LEFKE HOSPITAL
 

The hospital in Lefke was functioning just like a first-aid services. This was not enough facilities to look after the emergency matters or do any operation in surgery. therefore the patient would be sent to different hospitals for medical care.

In 1964 the hospital of lefke has been developed its bed capacity end enlarged which many illnesses were cured.

In 1975 when the hospital of Cengiz Topel was a token over by Turkish Cypriots, the hospital of lefke lost its importance.

At the present time there are two sections in Lefke hospital. Medical care and dental care. There is also one pharmacist, one assistant to pharmacist, one health inspector, two nurses, two male and three female workers are on duity.

The clinic operates from 8.30am-12.30am.During these hours the hospital give the free services to the people. In the afternoon the patients are subjected to pay for the medical care. The hospital is opened with its facilities until 17.00 pm. Although this hospital is opened first but nevertheless Cengiz Topel Hospital is in favour. 

   
CENGIZ TOPEL HOSPITAL
  This hospital was built during the British rule by CMC in 1924. In the beginning of the providing medical care one English, and two Greek doctors, one Greek nurse started operating the hospital with a capacity of seven bed. Later on, this hospital has been improved to the extent which became one of the most famous hospital in the Middle East. In 1974 Turks took it over when the conflict of Cyprus occurred.
